Graduate Civil Engineer- Perth

ACOR Consultants is an Australia-wide group of multi-disciplined Engineers, Infrastructure Planners, Managers and Designers. Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will need to satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • Minimum degree with 1-2 years’ experience in design
  • A working knowledge with a range of design software packages
  • Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Desire to develop technical documentation design and/or time management skills
  • Working rights to work in Australia

Responsibilities

  • Undertake initial professional engineering tasks of scope and complexity suitable to your skills and experience level
  • Comprehend and apply normal professional engineering and project management work and exercise individual judgement and initiative in the application of engineering principles, techniques and methods under supervision from higher-level professional engineers
  • Assisting more senior professional engineers and project managers by carrying out tasks requiring accuracy and adherence to prescribed methods of engineering analysis, design or computation
  • Draw upon education, training and available resources to apply advanced techniques and methods learned
  • Be capable of administration and managing project information
  • Seek and rely upon precedent or defined procedures and standards for guidance.
  • Strive for self-validation of works complete prior to senior review
  • Seek clarification and assistance if in doubt.  Monitor capabilities and seek to improve
  • Carry out quality and technical self-checks
  • Site based inspections, engineering and commission services to internal and external projects.
  • Work within the quality management system
  • Work with and apply standards and methods to minimise health, safety and environmental risks
  • Production of project documentation to an end client standard

WSC Project Manager/Designer- St Leonards Sydney

The Sydney office is looking for a WSC Project Manager and Designer to assist with the running of the Water Services Coordination department.

The successful candidate will need to have good attention to detail, have an approachable personality and be willing to work in a small, vibrant team.

In addition they will need to satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • 5+  years’ experience working as a Water Servicing Coordinator
  • Experience processing Section 73 Applications, Building Plan Approvals, Minor Works and Main to Meter
  • Experience with eDeveloper
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
  • Minimum S1 and W1 designer and Project Manager Listing with Sydney Water
  • Proficient designing sewer & water extensions, reticulation, deviations and adjustments
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Powerpoint, excel etc.)
  • Lodgement of major works designs and organising relevant inspections throughout the major works process
  • Experience with SW Connect for facilitating inspections
  • Ability to coordinate between Developer, WSC and Constructor to ensure projects are completed smoothly
  • Knowledge of Sydney Water Policy (EP)
  • Ability to process Building Plan Approvals for Sydney Water
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team

Structural Engineer – Brisbane

Due to a number of large projects underway there is an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our rapidly growing Structural section in our Brisbane office.

The successful candidate will need to have experience working on a variety of Commercial, Retail and Industrial buildings. In addition, they will need to be able to work as part of a close knit team, be client focused and a good communicator. The successful candidate would require the following skills and experience:

Senior Civil Designer – Brisbane

Our Brisbane office is looking for a highly skilled Senior Civil Designer with minimum 8 years’ experience to join our team.

The successful candidate will have solid, in-depth experience in and knowledge of 12D, an approachable personality, the ability to work with minimal supervision and be comfortable interfacing with clients and other stakeholders.

They will need to satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • 8 years’ 12D design and CAD drafting experience, including site grading, earthworks, stormwater drainage, road and intersection design, OSD and in-ground services
  • Predominantly experienced in land sub-division design
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Ability to lead a team of designers and drafters and mentoring young staff

Fire Designer – Norwest Business Park, Western Sydney

ACOR is looking for an experienced Fire Designer to join our team in our Norwest office. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Fire sprinkler, detection and warning systems documentation and design
  • 3D REVIT modelling and documentation/drafting
  • Liaise with clients, architects, builders and contractors
  • Site inspections and reports
  • Attend meetings
  • From time to time you will be expected to travel outside of Sydney and possibly interstate

Hydraulic Services Designer – Norwest Business Park, Western Sydney

ACOR has a number of significant major projects underway and we are looking for an experienced Hydraulics Services Designer to join our team at Norwest Baulkham Hills.

The candidate will perform Hydraulic (Plumbing) engineering consultancy duties associated with the planning, approval and construction of private and public projects.

The successful candidate must have:

  • 4+ years’ experience working as a Hydraulic Consulting Engineer in either plumbing or a consultancy environment within Australia. Essential is a high level of understanding of relevant Australian Standards (eg AS.3500, AS.2419, AS.5601, etc.) and local requirements
  • Provide site administration support such as construction phase and commissioning supervision
  • Proven ability to assist with management of project delivery and design team resources
  • Provide design and documentation of Hydraulic services including, hot and cold water, Gas reticulation systems, waste, stormwater, sewerage and drainage systems, Fire Hydrant and Fire Hose Reel Services for a range of residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional and mixed use projects
  • Provide management assistance and direction of drafting and Hydraulic Services Design team resourcing
  • Diploma in Hydraulic Services Design or equivalent Engineering Degree
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good time management
  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labor to determine project feasibility
  • Prepare project design reports, budgets and fee proposals
  • Actively work in a team of expert professionals who are proud of where they work
  • Competent experience in Fire Sprinkler services design (would be advantageous)
  • 3D / Revit, Cad Experience (would be advantageous)

Business Development / Bid Support – Perth

Due to the development of a Business Development team, ACOR is looking for an experienced Business Development / Bid Support person to join us on a full time basis, supporting the business to win new work with particular focus on the preparation of winning bids/proposals. The role of Business Development / Bid Support is to maintain efficient and high calibre support for business support services and business development activities. You will perform accurate, timely and efficient delivery of services in support of our clients’ requirements.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparing, running and documenting bid preparation and evaluation meetings
  • Undertaking business development research, data gathering and presentation
  • Review/edit proposal documents including editing, grammar and spelling prior to submission
  • Preparation of figures and diagrams including org charts
  • Preparation of non-technical content including company information, certificated, statutory declarations, insurances
  • Support in co-ordination and preparation of technical information
  • Preparation of presentations and content for tender interviews

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous experience (4+ years) in the management of business development processes, tenders/bids/submissions
  • Office experience within the engineering industry will be highly regarded
  • Confident personality
  • Adaptable approach to work – positive attitude
  • Excellent MS Office skills, specifically format, presentation and publishing
  • Efficient in preparing presentations and proposal documentation
  • Ability to learn and manage identification and research of potential opportunities using available industry data (i.e. Cordell, Austender, Government tender lists, etc.)
  • Reception administration experience and  experience with several CRM systems

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication – ability to communicate easily the required ideas or concept and tailor responses to client specifications
