Senior Civil Designer – Brisbane

The ACOR Group of Consulting Engineers is a well-established multi-disciplined engineering practice with offices across Australia.
Our Brisbane office is looking for a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer/Manager with minimum 12+ years experience to join our Civil team..
The successful candidate will need solid, in-depth experience in and knowledge of 12D. You will need to have an approachable personality, be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to interface with clients and other stakeholders.

In addition you will need to satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • 12D design and CAD drafting experience, including site grading, earthworks, stormwater drainage, road and intersection design and In-Ground Services
  • Predominantly experienced in land sub-division design and/or Commercial/Retail Sites
  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Able to lead a team of designers and drafters and mentor young staff

Civil Engineer – Brisbane

Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate will need to satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an engineering consultancy
  • Client and project management experience preferred
  • Project experience in land development and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong stormwater knowledge
  • A strong working knowledge with a range of design software packages including DRAINS, MUSIC, HEC-RAS and 12D
  • Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong technical documentation design and time management skills
  • Motivation and eagerness to learn and work in a multitude of different projects
  • Already residing in Australia with permanent unrestricted working rights.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct professional engineering work with little supervision
  • Manage engineering requirements for projects (or parts of projects) requiring substantial professional experience
  • Undertake improvement of professional engineering tasks, project management and project controls
  • Perform professional engineering work and exercise individual judgement and initiative in the application of engineering principles, techniques and methods with supervision from higher-level engineers as to method of approach and requirements
  • Assist Senior Engineers and Project Managers with professional tasks requiring accuracy and adherence to prescribed methods of engineering analysis, design or computation
  • Preparation of design models and technical reports within the timeframes required
  • Site based inspections, engineering and commission services to internal and external projects.
  • Work within the quality management system

Senior Hydraulic Services Designer – Brisbane

ACOR Consultants has a number of significant major projects underway and we are looking for an experienced Hydraulics Services Designer to join our team in Brisbane.

The candidate will perform Hydraulic Services Design consultancy duties associated with the planning, approval and construction of private and public projects.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Hydraulic Consulting Engineer in either plumbing or a consultancy environment within Australia. Essential is a high level of understanding of relevant Australian Standards (eg AS.3500, AS.2419, AS.5601, etc) and local requirements
  • Provide site administration support such as construction phase and commissioning supervision
  • Proven ability to assist with management of project delivery and design team resources
  • Provide design and documentation of Hydraulic services including, hot and cold water, Gas reticulation systems, waste, stormwater, sewerage and drainage systems, Fire Hydrant and Fire Hose Reel Services for a range of residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional, defence and mixed use projects
  • Provide management assistance and direction of drafting and Hydraulic Services Design team resourcing
  • Diploma in Hydraulic Services Design or equivalent Engineering Degree
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good time management
  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labour to determine project feasibility
  • Prepare project design reports, budgets and assistance with fee proposals
  • Actively work in a team of expert professionals who are proud of where they work
  • Competent experience in Fire Sprinkler services design (would be advantageous)
  • 3D / Revit, Cad Experience (would be advantageous)
  • Computer competence in using Microsoft Word and Excel

Hydraulic & Building Services Draftsperson- Brisbane

ACOR Consultants, a member of the ACOR Group of Consulting Engineers, has a number of significant major projects underway.

Due to current growth, we are seeking an experienced Hydraulic and Fire Building Services Draftsperson with experience in 2D AutoCAD drafting and BIM / Revit design modelling to join our team.

The ACOR Group is an industry respected consulting specialist, particularly in the field of Defence, Land Development, Health, Mining, industrial and commercial projects.

You will be working on a wide range of projects including (but not limited to) residential, commercial developments, schools, defence projects, aged care facilities and mining infrastructure works.
To ensure your ongoing success in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 2+ years of Building Services 2D (AutoCAD) drafting experience
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit MEP, highly desirable
  • Ability to learn new concepts and software quickly

The Sydney office is looking for a WSC Project Manager and Designer to assist with the running of the Water Services Coordination department.

The successful candidate will need to have good attention to detail, have an approachable personality and be willing to work in a small, vibrant team.

In addition they will need to satisfy the following essential criteria:

  • 5+  years’ experience working as a Water Servicing Coordinator
  • Experience processing Section 73 Applications, Building Plan Approvals, Minor Works and Main to Meter
  • Experience with eDeveloper
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
  • Minimum S1 and W1 designer and Project Manager Listing with Sydney Water
  • Proficient designing sewer & water extensions, reticulation, deviations and adjustments
