Located at the corner of The Corso and Whistler Street, Manly is a three-storey Federation Free Classical structure dating back to 1914, housing both commercial premises and residential accommodation.
This landmark building has been defined as having significant historical value due to its period features, elegance and location – in one of Sydney’s Sydney’s oldest and most famous beachside suburbs.
ACOR were engaged in conjunction with a Heritage Architect, to provide engineering services for remediation of the building fabric.
The works included:
- Replacement of the roof, concrete cornices and balconies
- Extensive remediation and building works to the brick façade, parapets and lift core
- Structural steel reinforcing work within the walls and floor elements
