National Logistics Operator McPhee Distribution Services has started work on a $40 million warehouse project at Berrinba industrial precinct.  The 40,000 sqm site will be developed over three stages with completion earmarked for June 2023.  ACOR Consultants are providing Hydraulic and Fire services design working alongside Architect, Bickerton Masters and Vaughan Constructions who were recently appointed as the building contractor to construct the new warehouse.

The ACOR hydraulics team has assisted with the design of the roof structure to deliver a functional and financially sustainable stormwater drainage system.  By providing input into the design the team has been able to reduce the number of downpipes required making significant savings on the projected construction cost.  The scheme includes rainwater tank for irrigation and services have been designed to be able to scale up in anticipation of future expansion.

It is estimated that 400 various construction-related contractor jobs will be required during construction with around 130 jobs required once operational. The project adds to around $100 million in business investment in the past 12 months into City of Logan – South East Queensland’s newest growth region where almost 170,000 sqm in commercial property will be taken up in 2020.
