ACORs Brisbane and Newcastle offices have provided design for the structural engineering as well as the hydraulic and civil services, working closely with RMS and other key stakeholders such as the Water Authority to ensure stormwater compliance. ACOR liaised with council to collect flood information and verify pre and post construction retention capacity and flow rates. Two fire services water tanks have been strategicaly located to connect with water services, minimising infrastructure across the site. Poor soil conditions meant that the slab works needed to be supported by 7,000 micro piles which were delivered in collaboration with Keller Australia. Construction is being led by FKG Group.
A development application was lodged to the Joint Regional Planning Panel in 2016 and approved in December 2017. Following a period of refinement to meet the conditions of approval, construction commenced in March 2019 with the new service centre expected to open in April 2020.
