The Western Sydney Planning Partnership is delivering on a core commitment of the Western Sydney City Deal, to oversee the preparation of uniform local government engineering design standards. As part of our engagement to develop a new Civil Engineering Design Manual, ACOR and Craig & Rhodes, with People Place and Partnership, recently hosted our first workshop with the Western Sydney Planning Partnership’s (WSPP) nine councils. The nine councils include Camden, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Wollondilly, Penrith, Blacktown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury & Blue Mountains.
A pivotal project for the rapidly expanding growth corridor, the manual will be used for all new developments in the area for the next 20+ years. To be used by Councils, Developers, and consultants alike, the Design Standards will deliver a uniform, best practice framework to simplify the planning assessment process. Key considerations for the manual will include drainage design, WSUD, road design, site management, and engineering standards. Client feedback and consultation is a crucial phase in the process with representatives from all 9 councils participating and providing valuable input to achieving a best practice outcome.
