With specialisation in all facets of facade design and engineering, our team is delighted to be assisting Mirvac with the implementation of the Locomotive Workshops in South Eveleigh. Designed by Sissons Architects, the century-old heritage-listed Locomotive Workshops are being sensitively converted to re-purpose the site into a thriving mixed-use precinct and innovation hub.
The large brick and steel building is divided into 16 bays running north-south. A complex system of frames and microstructures will protect the heritage openings, with sleek, steel-framed glazing. ACOR will review the specification for the internal and external glazing that makes up the new glass facade, to ensure the building performance targets and architectural intent are achieved. Structural steel assembly is forecast to commence this month with completion anticipated in 2020.
