About the role

As a Structural Consultant, you will support the success of ACOR, both locally and on a national level. The ideal candidate will have experience in Facilities Management and/or Defence and have broader building knowledge & experience.  Knowledge of remediation to heritage structures, an advantage.

This role requires an excellent communicator, that is looking for a mix of office & site-based work. You will need to be a problem solver, who is able to think ‘bigger picture’ and be able to advise on not only a full scope of structural design, but work across disciplines to  offer comprehensive solutions for our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertaking detailed independent design & inspection work across various sites for Defence (and other government authorities)
  • Undertaking construction and remediation inspections;
  • Writing of in-depth technical reports and remedial scopes of work;
  • Creating of tender and proposal bids;
  • Project and client management including relationship planning, quality management and business development input;
  • Managing the completion of project schedules, invoicing, time and budgets

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Structural/Civil Engineering (accredited by Engineers Australia)
  • Demonstrated competence of structural design, remedial reporting and project management;
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to compile detailed and accurate inspection reports
  • Proven experience providing consultation across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Highly consultative, with proven record of building & maintaining client relationships
  • Experience in structural design in one or more of the following market sectors; Defence; Mining, resources, oil & gas; Public works; and Remediation, maintenance and upkeep

Due to the nature of the projects which we work, it is essential that this candidate either holds or is eligible to obtain Baseline security clearance (Australian Citizen)
