“I’m looking forward to the transition to a renewable economy. The challenges that will come with the transition and changes in design philosophy, habits and outlook, present a great opportunity for engineering practitioners within the construction industry.”
Engaging with project stakeholders and truly understanding how they intend to use a facility, I find really interesting. I enjoy arriving at work and being presented with constant and differing challenges and then to approach the challenge with changing engineering and design technologies. It’s satisfying developing control methodologies to deliver optimised operation for users and to minimise energy consumption.
It’s also rewarding when engineering trades thank us for preparing a clear, concise and coordinated package of engineering documentation and we get to witness building services systems running and operating as intended.
In my downtime I do Road Cycling/Racing with Raceatlas Cycling Team, and maintain Murphey – my Wire Fox Terrier’s – social media profile.
