This new, purpose-built mining village delivers accommodation buildings for 800 people and a range of onsite amenities including dry & wet mess facilities, laundry, gymnasium, sports courts, recreation room, first aid building, shower blocks and camp offices.  The village was engineered to fit a prefabricated design and construction methodology, reducing costs and fast-tracking the construction program which took less than 6 months.

ACOR Consultants worked in close collaboration with lead contractor McNally Group who sought a design and engineering partner with the ability to provide a one-stop-shop for multi-disciplinary engineering services and a proven track record of delivering complex projects in remote areas.

The new facility has enabled Gold Fields to expand operations, accommodating larger crews of workers in a more attractive living environment.   Located in close proximity to the mine site means less travel time, reduced impacts on wildlife and improved on-site culture through the betterment of workers health and well-being.
