DogTap Brisbane is BrewDog’s first brewery in the Southern Hemisphere. Operating as a production and distribution facility, as well as a vibrant cellar door, the engineering demanded a functional yet flexible approach that would allow the premises to evolve as production on-site gradually expands.
Located east of the CBD on the Brisbane River in the suburb of Murrarie, the site makes effective use of its 500sqm patio, with the capability to host a variety of functions and events, serving local food with beverages that have been brewed on-site.
The brewhouse interior follows the industrial aesthetic of BrewDog bars worldwide, with a mix of leather booths and communal high-top tables. The design has been carefully considered to maximise functionality, defined by rough-hewed timber and banks of symmetrical seating.
Constructed by local developer NPD Property group, the ACOR scope included services to connect into the 25-hectolitre brewing system and the industrial-scale cold room. ACOR was engaged to design the Structural, Hydraulic, Fire, Mechanical and Electrical engineering services from design development through to completion, including design and documentation of security and communications systems. The team also provided advice to oversee the fitout requirements during construction.
