Calvary Bruce Private Hospital

ACOR provided structural engineering design services for the new six-storey Private Hospital on Calvary’s Bruce Campus. The design included a 40m bridge which was prefabricated off site and craned in, in one piece – which was a major logistical operation.

The development doubles the number of beds available on the campus, which is shared with Calvary Bruce Public Hospital.

The new hospital features:

• 94 private rooms (with capacity to expand to 156 in years to come)
• 12 post-natal beds
• 8 beds for CCU/High Dependency Unit
• 8 beds for mental health patients
• 28 surgical beds
• 6 full operating theatres
• 1 minor operations theatre
• 1 endoscopy suite

This is the first new private greenfield hospital built in the ACT for sometime. Construction features environmental sustainability initiatives using best practice approaches to minimise energy consumption and manage waste.
