Crystalbrook Collection’s Kingsley Hotel opened its doors to the public on Wednesday 9th June. Located in Newcastle’s CBD, it is the first 5-star luxury hotel in Newcastle, its title paying subtle homage to the area’s original name from 1804 – “Kingston.”
ACOR have been a crucial part of this project, providing Hydraulics and Fire services from concept to delivery. The hotel is an upgrade and refurbish project of the old Council Admin Centre. With 130 rooms, a rooftop restaurant, outdoor terrace and two bars, Kingsley is ideally located and set to transform the city’s civic precinct.
Over the course of the project, the ACOR Newcastle team implemented digital innovations by using Augmented Reality to demonstrate the services layout to the client. Using Revit to model the Hydraulics and Fire service designs, the Newcastle ACOR team located, overlaid, and visualised the designs on-site in real-time, using the AR application, VisualLive. This provided valuable and engaging user experience for the client.
The Newcastle Civil Team also completed a major works design for a water main relocation for Hunter Water that was required during construction.
