The Melton Town Centre has been transformed to create a vibrant, attractive, pedestrian-accessible and safe precinct. The project strengthens the town centre by making clear pathways to encourage people movement, creating spaces that enable both passive and organised uses, and facilitating opportunities for local businesses to engage in streetscape trade. The outcome delivers a people-focused space that attracts all ages and abilities and encourages the stimulation of local businesses.

A simple and adaptable structure weaves through the laneway precinct, creating a directional canvas for a range of activities and elements.  ACOR Consultants provided civil engineering for stages 3-5 of the redevelopment encompassing the Bakery Square and Wallace Square precincts.

The public space consists of safe and attractive pedestrian walkways, improved wayfinding signs, street lighting, kerb and channel works, redesigned car parking, lawn space, seating, landscaping, and the upgrade of power and gas services.
