Design Development is underway for the $73m redevelopment of Geraldton Health Campus. New facilities will include an expanded emergency department, new Intensive Care Unit, new integrated mental health services facilities, a reconfigured main entry and essential engineering service upgrades.
ACOR has been assisting the WA State Government since the inception of the project, providing Hydraulics consultancy services to inform the business case and overall feasibility. The team has developed a comprehensive appreciation of the precinct plumbing and water management systems, which includes the design of new treatment systems and coordination of water services diversions to enable commencement of the civil early works.
The team has collaborated with Silver Thomas Hanley to recommend the introduction of long-lead items as part of the early works package, offering significant efficiencies for the program and staging. Future proofing has been a key design consideration with services designed to accommodate future expansion if required. Other bespoke Hydraulic services components include specialised decontamination showers and anti-ligature fixtures.
The new facilities are expected to be operational in 2023 to provide high-quality health services to the Mid-West community.
