What is AIDGC?

The Australasian Institute of Dangerous Goods Consultants (AIDGC) is a leading professional body dedicated to promoting safety, compliance, and best practices in the handling, storing, and transporting dangerous goods. AIDGC provides support and resources for consultants, businesses, and regulators, helping to ensure the safe management of hazardous materials across industries in Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Australasian region.

As a key player in the dangerous goods sector, AIDGC works to enhance its members’ professional knowledge and technical expertise. It offers training, guidance, and industry updates to keep professionals at the forefront of regulatory changes, safety standards, and best practices. AIDGC is also a strong advocate for implementing effective risk management frameworks, focusing on reducing hazards, protecting people, and minimising environmental impacts.

Sean Page’s Role on the Board

Sean Page brings a wealth of experience to the AIDGC Board, having worked extensively in dangerous goods consultancy and safety management. With a background in risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and chemical management, Sean Page deeply understands the complexities of ensuring safety across industries that handle dangerous goods.

“I am honoured to rejoin the Board of the AIDGC after almost 20 years. I look forward to supporting the Institute as we pursue our mission: ‘To benefit the community by providing information on accessing a pool of specialised knowledge on dangerous goods and related matters,'” said Sean Page. “Now more than ever, it is crucial to continue developing and nurturing critical skills, knowledge, and experience to ensure safety in the workplace and the community. I am excited to be part of our expanding presence and relevance as custodians of this important work, especially as some founding members transition out of core roles.”

Looking Ahead

Sean Page’s appointment reflects ACOR Consultants’ ongoing commitment to safety and excellence in the dangerous goods consultancy space. ACOR has long been dedicated to delivering innovative, safety-driven solutions for its clients. With this new role at AIDGC, Sean Page will help strengthen industry standards and contribute to the broader goal of reducing risks and enhancing safety across Australasia.

Sean’s appointment coincides with Imran Shaik, ACOR Energy Leader, being named the head of the West Australian Sub-Committee, and Imran will oversee the AIDGC WA Chapter. “I am privileged to work with a talented group of professionals dedicated to advancing safety, compliance, and best practices in the Dangerous Goods (DG) field,” said Imran Shaik. “At AIDGC WA, our mission is to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development to ensure that our industry meets the highest standards of safety and innovation.”

We want to congratulate Sean Page on his appointment to the Board of the AIDGC. This milestone highlights Sean’s expertise in safety and risk management, reinforcing ACOR’s commitment to advancing industry standards. As a key member of the AIDGC Board, Sean will help shape the future of safety practices and regulatory frameworks across the region, contributing to safer workplaces and communities, along with Imran Shaik’s appointment as the head of the WA Sub-Committee, which is an exciting phase of collaboration and innovation within the dangerous goods sector.
