There are always new challenges in structural engineering and being part of ACOR’s structural team means dealing with these challenges in a collaborative and creative manner. This makes each project a platform to learn, experience and eventually improve our efficiency and accuracy – which is such a rewarding experience.

Being part of ACOR’s journey, as a business and a family and having the opportunity to evolve with it – both technically and from the organisational hierarchy perspective – really drives me to succeed.

I like that ACOR’s fundamental focus is on its people and to provide market exposure for all the team members, involving them in a variety of opportunities. Essentially, we are all evolving in our professions together, and it is exciting to witness our success.

Outside of the work, I’m usually with my family but if I can find any spare time I’m either in the garage working on my wood projects, or in the garden looking after the plants (with Chopin in the background!). Occasionally we get lucky and find the time to go hiking and exploring new places.

Afshin is an Executive Director of ACOR with over 19 years’ experience as a structural engineer. He has extensive experience across a broad range of projects in the residential, commercial /retail, Industrial, roads and bridges, education, health, renewable energy, mining and tourism sectors. His skills cover engineering design, peer review, documentation, project management, construction supervision, Quality Assurance / Control and certification.
